Leah + Adam = Fall in Love

From the moment I walked into Leah's suite at Willows Lodge I knew we were going to have a fabulous day.  She was so excited that she couldn't stop smiling and her excitement was contagious - within minutes, I was overwhelmed by her simple joy.  This was one of my favorite weddings of the year!

Leah and Adam had their 'first glimpse' in the courtyard at Willows - perfectly secluded and quintessential Northwest.  They both got a little teary, but they soon dissolved into laughter!

Meet Ben, our unbelievably adorable ringbearer and Leah and Adam's son.  He was pretty tired but managed to stay awake and happy for some fun photos out in the leaves.  I love the one on the right - he is watching Leah and Adam over my shoulder as I chased him around the courtyard!

This was my first wedding at the newly renovated Lynnwood Convention Center, and I confess I wasn't really sure what to expect.  The room for the ceremony and reception is in the image above, which presented an impressive challenge to their designer Daniela from Bella Signature Design.  I've worked with Daniela at quite a few weddings and I was excited to see what she would do with the space.  Frankly, I was blown away ... the space was transformed into Leah's dream in a way that was so clever and beautiful I could barely believe it was created from such a simple room.

They started with a color pallette of red, black, and cream, and then built a masterpiece of design and creativity.  I hope you love it as much as I do!

I love the sophistication of black chiavari chairs.  Coupled with the dramatic lighting and the lush linens, it had an old-Hollywood feel that combined classic and modern looks seamlessly.

The dueling piano players were quite the hit (no pun intended!)  Remember the scene in Top Gun where Tom Cruise did a scerenade to the tune of 'You've Lost that Loving Feeling'?  Yup, you guessed it - Adam and the guys did a rendition that got everyone on their feet!

 Congratulations, Leah and Adam!

I've been addicted to your site and blog for weeks and weeks now! Although I'm not engaged (yet!!???), I love the work you do. Truly it makes me speechless. I'm anxiously awaiting the day I get to call and set up a meeting with you for one of the biggest days of our lives. I'm not sure why this wedding in paticular made me break my stalker silence (heehee) but the crisp details, the angles, the subjects, the vibrancy of the color (even the black and white) is beautiful. I've never been a big fan of red as a wedding color, maybe because I've always seen it in right-out-of-high-school weddings and it has always appeared cheap to me. But this wedding has turned me around completely. This is ultra-grownup, sophisticated, elegant and just plain beautiful. Even something as simple as red roses make a huge impact. I love, love, love it.

Thank you for once again capturing my work beautifully! Leah and Adam were such a joy to work with, and I absolutely LOVED the challenge of taking a space such as a convention center, and creating someone's dream. Seriously, I love my job! It's all the better when clients trust the vision and go with it - it leads to fabulous design! Thank you for the beautiful images. Always so fun to work with you!!
