Columbia Tower Club | "First Look" Wedding Style Event

With only a few months to plan, Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom created an amazing Style Event at the newly remodeled Columbia Tower Club. An hour or so before the doors opened, Ken and I photographed a whirlwind fashion shoot with two stunning brides as models. I'll be sharing more from this event in the weeks to come (including some truly inspiration decor ideas), and I'm kicking it off with a "double-shot" of Daily Inspiration featuring A Princess Bride Couture wedding gown ... gorgeous!

Jen + Nate = Fun!

I have been excited all weekend to share Jen and Nate's Wedding Day!  This couple has a special place in my heart - not only are they super-adorable, I think we laughed at their wedding more than any other I can remember.  I am delighted to share a collection of my favorite moments from their day, and I hope they bring a smile!

We started the day at The Maxwell Hotel, recently opened in downtown Seattle.  The directions to the hotel include the line 'Turn right at the pineapple', which was my first clue that I would love it.  The Hotel itself has a funky-modern-eclectic-chic look to it - I am adding it to my list of newly discovered gems!

Nate wrote Jen a very sweet note ... fortunately, Jen's makeup was waterproof.

LOVE the vibrant red shoes!

Jen looked absolutely stunning - her dress was perfect for her, and her happy-glow turned heads everywhere we went.

I often get asked what my favorite part of the Wedding Day is, and this is it!  The 'First Glimpse' - the moment they see each other for the first time - is my hands-down favorite.  The energy and excitement charges the air, and I could pracitically see Nate's heart race when Jen tapped him on the shoulder.

The moment we all were waiting for ...

We took a few quick photos before we boarded the party bus, then off we went to tour the sites of downtown.

 Next stop, Kerry Park!

Sublime Stems did a great job with the florals ... the bouquets were extraordinary.

For once, the construction at the marketplace worked in our favor - we had plenty of time to play in the middle of the street with no cars coming.

There is a natural joy to this image that I adore.

Rain or shine, Jen wanted to make sure we used her Bella Umbrellas.  The "sassy" photo is one of her most loved images of the day.  She owned it!

A soft and romantic sunset ceremony on the top of tallest building in Seattle ...

... and Jen and Nate's first kiss as husband and wife.

They literally danced down the aisle, once again making us laugh.  Somehow they both managed to look graceful doing it, which was probably looked easier than it was.

Jen put thought into every little detail, including a their personalized cake topper crowning a tower of Trophy Cupcakes.  Yum!

The party lasted late into the evening, and everyone had a blast.  Nate's parents had travelled all the way from Australia, and entertained us all with their very unique 'kangaroo hop dance.'  I've seen many things, but that was new even to me.  :)

Jen and Nate, thank you for inviting us to be a part of your Wedding Day - we loved every minute of it, and we hope to see you again soon!

Michelle and Anthony's wedding reception at The Columbia Tower Club was beautiful, and Janel from Occasions helped them pull together this the timeless black elements with striking color to create a look that was both summer and sophisticated.  I particularly liked the pattern they incorporated into their menu detailing - fabulous!

The Seattle Wedding Network USA Launch Party

Last Wednesday was the official launch of the Seattle Wedding Network USA group, coordinated by Jennifer Taylor and Cherie Ronning and hosted by the Columbia Tower Club.  The mission of the group is to focus on developing our businesses, both through the relationships within the network and the seminars that will be held on a regular basis.  The party was a huge success ... Ken and I are so excited to be a part of it.  (I love business almost as much as photography, so this is the perfect group for me!)  Here are just a few of my favorite images from the night, and all of the images are available for free download (click here.)

Steve Cox from Creative Ice provided an adorable martini ice-luge ... if you are looking for a great wedding accent, these are always a hit!

The lighting was amazing ... I'm starting to see a lot of the LED up-lights at events, and I love how it can transform and customize a space relatively inexpensively.  (I'll be posting some images from Leah and Adam's wedding this week, which has some equally impressive lighting.)

It is so fun to mix and mingle with our wedding friends, some of whom we've known for over a decade.  One of the best things about being a part of the community is all the relationships ... it felt a little like 'Cheers' because almost everyone knows each other from different events and connections.  (Warm fuzzies all around!)

Mmmm ... candy!

I love this shot of our friend (and fellow photographer) Loren ... it gets funnier the longer you look at it!
