Daily Shot of Inspiration || Saturday, June 25th || Willows Lodge Wedding in Woodinville, WA

A special glow lit up Angela's face as her girls helped her into her dress - you can just tell that she felt as lovely as she looked.

Willows Lodge Wedding in Woodinville

They say that all photographers are voyeurs at heart, which may be why I adore the images that no one sees us take ... peaking through the lilac bushes is high on my list of fun things to do on a spring Wedding Day.

Weddings in Woodinville - A Winter Wonderland at the Columbia Winery

The 2nd Annual Weddings in Woodinville was a sold-out affair that left me in awe of the talent of my friends in the wedding industry.  Ken and I were chosen as the photographers for the Columbia Winery, and lovely venue nestled in the hills of Woodinville.  With the help of Rented Elegance, Merry Beth transformed the space into a 'Winter Wonderland' that was as warm and inviting as it was beautiful.

Steve Cox of Creative Ice shared his talent with this martini-luge.  You pour the martini into the top and it travels through the ice sculpture, coming out the bottom perfectly mixed and ice cold.

I love the bejeweled napkin holder and the ice-inspired plates.  The center table was my favorite display because of all the subtle and thoughtful details.

The ceremony setup exchanged the traditional wedding chairs for faux-fur covered couches.  It was fun to watch just about everyone curiously stroke the seating to see if it felt as good as it looked.

Soft, warm, elegant, and beautiful!

If you look closely, you can see that Merry Beth named the 'bride' Snow White and the 'groom' was the ever-illusive Prince Charming.  Clever!

Vintage apothacry jars are a great way to create a centerpiece that it high in design but low in cost ... the paper-whites peaking out from under the glass-top were simply sweet.

Chris Graves and Your Song Entertainment provided the groovy tunes ... Chris is best known (at the moment) as a dj, but he has an extraordinary voice and upon request can mix in some live Sinatra-style music into the entertainment.

Hand-lettered calligraphy is experiencing a revival, and I'm hoping to employ Pascale to create unique writing for our upcoming book series, 'Inspired by Weddings.'  (More on that later!)

Every great event ends with a sweet moment ...  :)

Thank you to everyone who worked to create a truly magnificent event, and I hope to work with you all often in the year to come!

Daily Shot of Inspiration || Saturday, August 14th || Delille Cellars Winery Wedding

Kim and Joe combined two of their passions - exquisite wine and extraordinary food - into one of the most beautiful winery weddings I have ever seen.  I tried to limit this 'Daily shot of Inspiration' to two photographs, but there I got a little carried away ... enjoy!

Michelle Engvall from 'Married & More with Michelle' worked hand-in-hand with Fiore Blossoms, Tom Douglas Catering (yum!), Pedersens Rentals, Bamboo Beats, and of course Delille Cellars to pull together all the little details.  Thank you for creating such an amazing event!

There's always room for dessert!

Daily Shot of Inspiration || Tuesday, March 9th || Novelty Hill Januik Wedding Photography

Who says a little rain will stand in the way of great photographs?  Kathy and Craig were so sweet about traipsing around through the puddles on the way to their reception at Novelty Hill Januik Winery.  They even did a very special day-after shoot involving their fishing boat that I will share with you next week - it makes these photographs look dry!

Weddings in Woodinville || Delille Cellars Wedding Photography

Washington has such an amazing variety of venues, and so many 'hidden gems' like the Delille Cellarswinery in Woodinville.  I adored this design created by Jacky Grotle at Event Success and Rented Elegance for the recent Weddings in Woodinville tour.   I found this design particularly inspiring because the color palette is one of my personal favorites - rich, vibrant, and still so elegant.

I am obsessed with the personal touches that create a sense of occasion ... the calligraphy on this seating card is beautiful!  I thought the mini-corkscrew gifts were a cute addition.

Weddings in Woodinville || Novelty Hill Januik Winery

The first annual Weddings in Woodinville wine tour was an amazing success ... we were honored to be the featured photographers for one of my favorite venues, the Novelty Hill Januik Winery.  Six wineries - Novelty Hill Januik Winery, Columbia Winery, Delille Cellars, JM Cellars, Novelty Hill Januik Winery, Russell's Barn, and Willows Lodge - were on the tour route, and each winery shared their three favorite wines and their most scrumptious hors d'oevres.  It was a fabulous afternoon, and I'm so glad we were invited to be a part of it!

The decor was coordinated by the ever-fabulous Jennifer Taylor from Taylor'd Events by Jennifer, with linens by Choice Linens & Chair Covers, chairs by Pedersen's, draping by Chic Celebrations, floral arrangements by Elements in Bloom, and stationary by Uncommon Invites.   I loved the color palette they chose ... the warm grey pulled in the natural tones of the concrete wall spanning the room, and the warm yellow and fresh green created a warm, inviting feeling.  Kudos!

A little-known piece of wedding trivia is that many of the Woodinville venues - including Novelty Hill Januik - can accommodate indoor ceremonies during our notoriously capricious winters.  Perfect for an intimate celebration and the best wine imaginable!

I can't recall seeing pussy-willow branches integrated into a floral arrangement lately, but I have to say I really liked it.  Tanya Stone from Elements in Bloom did a great job of pulling together different looks from the yellow/green/ivory palette that was consistent on all the tables, but still had a remarkable amount of variety.  (Yes, I know I'm detail-obsessed, but someone has to notice all that hard work!)

I think I gained a pound during the course of the day ... the rather odd-looking concoction above is a pistachio bread pudding that was absolutely to die for.  I know, it sounds horrible, but it was amazing.  I could have eaten a dozen of them (though I stopped at one!)

The dates for next year's Weddings in Woodinville tour have not yet been announced, but I'll keep you posted.  I am looking forward to it already!
